#2 - Absolute Superman Part Two: Sun of Nothing

Part Two of Absolute Superman shifts into high gear with a thrilling, action-packed narrative (and yes, this one’s in color!). The issue delves deeper into Kal-El’s immense power, giving us a front-row seat to some truly jaw-dropping feats. From breathtaking aerial battles to high-stakes rescues, the pacing is relentless and exhilarating.

The dynamic between Lois Lane and Kal takes on more depth here. There’s also some thoughtful world-building woven in, with glimpses of the new Lazarus Army and how the world is grappling with the implications of an alien’s presence. Sol’s interactions with Kal, along with flashbacks that show Kal as a kid and his parents grappling with the fate of the world and their child, add emotional weight to the story.

As the issue wraps up, it’s clear that the stakes are higher than ever, setting up what could be one of the most iconic stories in Superman’s history.

Closing

What sets the All-In run apart from other comics I’ve read is its bold focus on stakes and willingness to take risks. The drastic changes to these characters and their worlds across the All-In and Absolute runs make them far more intriguing. Seeing the ripple effects of Darkseid’s wish and how it’s reshaped the very core of the DC universe is truly impressive. Each of the three stories spotlights different characters, but the worlds they inhabit are just as dynamic, fascinating, and alive as the characters themselves. If you’re new to comics and searching for an exciting starting point, the All-In run is where you should begin.

Since we’re now roughly six issues deep across three separate character arcs, things can get a bit tricky to follow. To make it easier, I’ve organized my blog posts in order so you can follow along. For those who can’t access them, I’m also working on a handy reference list that will help you stay on track. This blog started as a way to help people get into comics, and I’ve loved every moment of collecting and reviewing them for my readers. While I don’t have a release date for the list yet, it’s coming soon. I’m committed to making it as simple as possible for everyone to keep up and enjoy the journey!
